Archival Collections at Sonoma County Library

This collection contains records of cases heard in the County Court for Sonoma County, California, between 1850 and 1880. Includes record of civil and criminal cases heard in County Court, daily records of County Court operations, and records of cases on appeal.

This collection contains reporters' transcripts and related papers for cases brought before the Third District Court of Appeal between 1909 and 1922.

This collection contains a compilation of Sonoma County court-related correspondence, letterhead, rules, rosters, and business cards culled by John Schubert, a Russian River historian, while he served the county as a deputy sheriff for 39 years. The administrative records and letterhead include those of Sonoma County's Municipal Court, District Court, Superior Court, County Clerk, and judges' chambers primarily from the 1930s through the 1970s.

This collection contains records reflect various aspects of the operations of the Sonoma County District Courts. These include: registers of actions in civil and criminal cases heard in the District Court, and fees paid; liens for state and county taxes; lists of defendents and plaintiffs; minutes of each court session, court actions, and rules of the court.
